THE PORTRAITS

I only do portraits of people I know and like and, when I get desperate, a self portrait can be a bit of fun.

Anyway, chances are, the casual reader will be reasonably familiar with the history of portraiture. Regardless, and despite the fact that more people are painting and drawing, there is a general decline of interest due partly to radical departures of intention in art and, according to some (me included), a general decline of fundamental ability to draw.

The one below had its origin in the ‘Hell Fire’ nightclub that was decked out like a dungeon. I was busy drawing and Mistress Vickie wandered over to check me out. We got to talk and she told me she had a better dungeon at home... and she did!
